Lightyear 0 | the world’s first production-ready solar car
Lightyear launched the world's first production-ready solar car this month, capping off six years of innovation. Lightyear 0 was revealed in an online global premiere on June 9th. Lightyear displayed their final design, as well as the car's distinctive specifications and revolutionary capabilities. The core technologies that distinguish Lightyear 0 as a leader in efficiency were outlined as they revisited their origins, mission, and strategy. That's significant because Lightyear's first and only series, Lightyear 0, will pave the way for an ambitious mission that will reach every corner of the globe. Every seam of Lightyear 0's high-quality interior is stitched with sustainable design. It's vegan and environmentally friendly, with plant-based leather, fabrics made from recycled PET bottles, and wooden deco elements made from sustainably restructured rattan palm. The outer body panels of Lightyear 0 are also made of reclaimed carbon; residual carbon fiber materials that would otherwise go to waste.
